You will leave the cinema wishing your car could transform.
Yes folks, its the hard core truth. Transformers rocks. Maybe i'm totally biased, but i watched it with my girlfriend, and she loved it. My Little Pony and Friends got knocked off the No.1 spot for "bestest" show ever.
I won't spoil it for you people who've yet to seen the light aka watch the movie, so rest assured, you can read on.
As i said earlier, i could be biased. There's an overwhelming joy in seeing your favourite cartoon turn into life like on the big screen which just blankets any flaws this movie has. Its basically, just awesome.
(WARNING: the word awesome will be overused throughout this review)
Did you know that the voice behind Optimus Prime in the original Transformers series, did the voice for the Optimus Prime in this movie? Is that awesome or what? Deffinately a kick ass move by the director/producer/whoever-thought-it-up!
I must say though, they got a pretty good cast for the movie. Shia Lebeouf deffinately managed to hold his own against his much bigger cast members. If you recall, some of his recent movies are "Constantine" (he played the taxi driver sidekick) and "They Greatest Game Ever Played"
Other big names in this movie include Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Anthony Anderson and Jon Voight. Even Bernie Mac makes a cameo, as the car dealer who "sells" Bumblebee to our hero dude.
Lookout for the phrase "more than meets the eye" getting thrown about here and there in the dialogue. Also, did you also know that there are rumours of a Transformers Trilogy? Is that awesome or what?
All in all, just go an watch it. Off course, put aside all you cynicism and expectations. This movie isnt going to win Oscars in real life, but it will win Oscars with that child within you. Trust me. Transformers: The Movie is AWESOME.
