Liverpool lack flair

Watching last nights game in Bojangles, i couldn't help but notice how workman like Liverpool played. We were more of less playing effective football, creating decent chances but without being entertaining and creative. There was a lot of power in our play, but no style.

If i had to choose 2 words to describe our style of play this season, it would be direct and power.

How we miss thee.

I think the biggest reason that we have played like this is because we have missed our 2 biggest flair players, if not our ONLY 2 flair players:

Harry Kewell and Luis Garcia

Right now, all those fans who have been slagging them, are currently sucking it in and wishing these 2 players were fit and on form. Heck, as for me, I'd pick an off-form Kewell over an on form Gonzalez any time!

The more and more i see Gonzalez, the more and more i dislike him and wonder what the big fuss was all about. In the Arsenal game, Eboue (the right back) did more attacking and dribbling than Gonzalez! Utterly embarrassing!

Pass and Move damnit!

All the Liverpool players last night seemed very afraid of giving the ball away. They never tried any 1 touch passing. Everyone wanted 3 or 4 touches which to me, showed apprehension and doubt over the position of their team mates or whether they could even pass to a team mate.

If we had Kewell and Garcia, i'm very sure Liverpool would be higher up the League, and i think Rafa and the coaching staff can't wait to get them back fully fit and raring to go.

Time, is on our side..yes it is

Contrary to what everyone may think, i believe a lot of fans have NOT lost faith in Rafa. If anything, one need only look at what Ferguson has achieved. In the early years of his management of Manure Utd, after a few seasons of rebuilding and not winning anything, he was 1 game away from getting sacked or something like that, but they managed to win that game, and look what they have achieved and where they are now.

I strongly believe that Rafa will get it right eventually. Most definitely not this season, but he will have learn't a lot. We aren't a Chelsea, where we can buy any player we wish to fit our system, so we shouldn't expect Liverpool to be at Chelsea's level so soon. We will get there though. Look at the Chelsea game early this season, where we pretty much matched them and could have won if not for better finishing from Gerrard. It took a truly awesome and magnificent, but freakish once in a lifetime goal from Drogba to win it.

So, i will continue to wear the Liverpool jersey with pride, because i know our time is coming soon.
