Its official. Liverpool FC have signed Welsh international Craig Bellamy for appoximately 6 million pounds. He's even given his first interview to Liverpoolfc.tv.
I think he's a great signing, and extremely worth the money. Its hard to find a quality striker, who's blessed with abundant pace, scores bags of
goals in the premiership and works hard for the team.
Those 3 qualities should be enough for him to be regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, but the problem with him is his temperment. That part of him has always been shaky. I'm sure he knows Rafa doesnt have the patience for players who dont play their part. Just ask Cisse and Morientes.
On the down side of things, i hope this isnt the end for Sinama-Pongolle. When he first came to Liverpool together with La Tallec, big things were expected of them. Though i've always preferred La Tallec, as he's a stylish flair player in the mould of Bergkamp and Litmanen, Sinama seems more effective to the style of the Premiership.
He's shown a great attitude and a willing ness to work hard for the team. He's about the same build as Bellamy too, so attitude and tempermant apart, they're almost exactly the same type of player. It would be great if we could keep Sinama, who is blessed with good pace as well, a necessary element for any player who wants to make it in the EPL.
If Bellamy performs anywhere near as how he has for his previous clubs, then he would have been a great signing already. Lets hope the pressure of playing for one of the worlds most illustrious clubs won't 'weigh' him down.
