Though its still early days, i have to say that the 'Year Of The Dog' seems to be a good one.
I'm generally enjoying my life more than i used to. I guess when one is more or less settled, and there isnt any major burden on their shoulders, then life gets expotenially better. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out, but it might take one to achieve it.
Granted, i'm not exactly burden free, but i've just chosen to accept that it is there, it is my burden, and i simply have to deal with it. Worrying all the time isnt gonna make it any lighter.
Of late, i've realised that i have a lot to be thankful for, and i thank the Man above for all that. My life could be a lot more fucked up, if it wasn't for him.
Visited Batu Caves for the first time during Thaipusam last week. Went with my good friends. Our chinese friend, Seets, included. It was the first time we both have been there. It was amazing. So many people congragating in one place. There is something in that place, you know its there, you just can't see it. I have to say, i felt like Indiana Jones a bit, standing at the top, staring at the cave formations and such. It was fucking beautiful.
The highlight of the place is the new Statue that was errected recently. It is blady huge.
Deffinately going to be a major tourist attraction. Even so, there was apparently a lot of noise made by the authorites, because it would be taller than certain mosques. Apparently, certain Muslims are threatened by other religious buildings that are taller than mosques. They think the current crop of Muslims will convert once they see these taller religious buildings. By that definition, then they must think all Muslims are a bunch of dumbass mindless lacking any sort of intelligence animals. *sigh*
But if there is one really dissapointing aspect about the whole thing, was that there was so many security people (police, FRU etc) around. They are there to generally keep the crowds moving, but primarily, its to keep check on fights that breakout. Its kinda embarrasing to be an Indian and knowing that. Even in this holy place, some of us go around looking for trouble. I hear some of them even go there drunk.
Anyways, On a more pleasant note, Liverpool seem to be back on track. Back to back wins against Arsenal and Man Yoo has brought back confidence to the players and supporters. I think the most pleasing aspect was not that they won, but that they won it playing well. No one can say that we got lucky, like Man Yoo, and how they beat us at Old Trafford after we completely outplayed them for 89 minutes. My bro is just as freaked out as i am about Liverpool and what the future is for us. Good times indeed.
Am downloading the latest episode of Battle Star Galactica now. Urg. Can't wait. I've just been so impressed with the quality of this show. This show as well as other latest sci fi shows like Invasion, Surface, Lost and SG:Atlantis is not just for the nerdy sci fi freaks like myself anymore. These shows have made sci-fi something believeable and down to earth, to levels that normal everyday people can connect with. Awesome. The world needs more sci-fi lovers, and a lot less reality-tv, soap opera's and mindless talent show lovers.
