A deadly plague has broken out in the online/virtual World of Warcraft, according to this BBC report.
Apparently, the players found a bug in the system, and abused the bug to infect thousands of other places in the virtual world. Virtual terrorism? Not really suprising is it? Not only are we killing others in the real world, but we're doing it virtually as well. Humans, *sigh*.
Does violence really define us as human beings?
Anyway, Blizzard (the makers of Warcraft), have more of less managed to reduce the damage, but one wonders how long before the manage to rectify it. There have been tales of players walking into towns and finding all the other virtual players....DEAD. Eerie.
Thankfully though, these kinda 'world events' dont have a lasting effect. Dead characters can be resurrected. Thats the beauty of these virtual worlds.
