Occupational Hazards

Being a weekend "partier + alcohol friendly" has its inherent risks. What risks you ask? Well, the cops for one.

We all know them. We are dread the sight of them after much fun and laughter with friends. Cops are official party poopers. They officially pooped my party last night.

Got busted on the second road block at Jalan Hang Tuah around 2.30am. Me and my other 2 passengers were on the way back from a friends convo gathering at Poppy's. We didnt drink much, 2 bottles only...shared among roughly 10 people. So how wasted could i get? Am not trying to brag about my drinking skills (quite frankly, its not something i would want to brag about even if i was the Olympic drinking champion), but i've driven back far worse before....and safely. Its kinda contradictory statement there.. i know, because how can you drive back safely, when you are in a "worse" condition? Pardon the bad english there, didnt know how else to put it.

Neway, the cops drove us to the station near Central Market. Had to take the breathalyzer again, with their more "powerful and accurate" machines. The damned things were faulty. I think i had to take the breathalyzer at least 10 times before a reading registered. I hope that it would just fail, and only get a slap on the wrist, but i knew that was very very far fetched, and i would be a lucky man to get away like that.

Well, got a date with the courts on Monday morning. Gotta settle the claims/fines and get the car out of the police station. If you're wondering how i got back home, then wonder no more. We called a few people who i thought would still be awake after the party, but no answer. In the end, i called my dear cousin , who stays at Pantai Hillpark. She was such a darling. She came down and fetched us from Central Market bus stop at about 5am . She was half awake, when she arrived, so i asked her to sleep in the back while i drove.

Got home. Mum was awake, she realised the car was no where to be seen, and things got heated. I knew word for word exactly what she would say. *sigh* I can't blame her for getting pissed, but sometimes i tell you, even when everything is under control, she has this uncontrollable urge to over-react! Why is it that the women in my life always like to see the negative side of things first?

Oh, i feel i must mention about the drama that happened even before we left for KL. A friend came down from Sri Muda on his bike and was supposed to meet me somewhere in subang, so he can catch a ride with me. Turns, out, the dude got in an accident. Haiyoh! When i arrived there, he was just standing next to his bike next to the traffic lights. Apparently, my friend tried to beat the lights, but failed. A truck knocked him. My friend did his best to minimize the impact and literally threw himself of the bike. Thankfully he just came away with minor bruises and a slightly misaligned motorbike. This boy i tell you, forever talking un-neccesary risks. Occupational hazards again.

So...with all this said and done...what is the moral of the story? What have i learnt?

IF YOU ARE PARTYING IN KL, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS LEAVE THE CLUBS NO EARLIER THAN 4AM

The reason i say this is because i've never encountered a single road block when driving back from KL at that hour.
