The Depressing State of Things

I love this country, but i think i may leave it someday. Not sure. There was a time when i didnt want to. But think about it:

  • the government makes an effort only to take care of one segment of society
  • the part of the goverment that is supposed to take care of its own "segments" is just a puppet that tries to fill its own pockets
  • social welfare? None existant.
  • Education in this country? hmm, lets see..memorize memorzie, copy copy, oh yay the teacher is giving us the answer, oh wonderful because i belong to a certain segment of society i get higher grades and better opportunities in the universities, government and everythings cheaper for me!
  • Wages seem to be stagnant , from say the last 5 years. A plate of chicken rice used to be rm.250/rm3.00. Now its atleast rm4. Just an example, u get the gist of it.
  • there is no debating with the ruling party. ure either with them, or branded a traitor/disloyal/bla bla bla. take the care of the recent Ukraine medical school fiasco.
  • doctors and nurses are overworked and underpaid, and treated like DIRT. These are the people who have lives in their hands on a daily basis. Does it make sense to over-stress them?
Has anyone been listening to the news lately, on radio that is? I keep hearing the news about how the government is trying to provide better education for all....but there is always this trailing line --> "...especially for the Malays."

Why this segment only? Are they a retarded race? Are they completely incompetent? Do they require spoon feeding? The answer is NO. They are just like everyone else. They are capable of some amazing things, just like everyone else.

Doesnt the government realise that sooner or later, things might eventually boil over again. The next generation might not remember May 13. Some of the current generation dont fucking remember it! I find it hard to love and be loyal to a country that doesnt intentionally do something for us. Most things that the government does is for the betterment of the country of Malays. We just so happen to be around to enjoy the fruits of the endeavours.

All this bitching about my country is making me sick. My relative said that Malaysia is more or less a developed nation, in terms of infrastructure, technology etc. But i added that we still have the mentality of a third world nation. Backwards. Kampung.

Why stay in this country, when there are other countries that:

  • are desperate for ppl to come to their country
  • allow citizens to voice their opinions and thoughts directly to the ministers
  • social welfare!
  • Wages are in line with the cost of living
  • overall quality of life is excellent!
A country like New Zealand. My relatives rave about the place. They moved there about 10 years ago. I've a few friends who have studied there and they equally rave about that place. Plus you get to hang with Frodo and geng.

*sigh* Will ramble more about this later.
