Just finished reading the book about 2 days ago. I must say, it was a very entertaining read. I was glued to its pages for a few days. Its a good FICTIONAL book. The author, Dan Brown, presents some very amazing and startling theories in regards to religion, in particular Christianity, specificly to Catholicism.
If you havent read it yet, do read it. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good thriller fictional book.
If you HAVE already read the book, check out this link, that examins the claims made in the book. Also, another link here for you, that summarizes the validity of some of the main points of the book.
As a catholic, i was very worried about some of the things being mentioned in the book. Could it be true? Was the church really has evil and hell bent as potrayed? Did the Church really burn 5 million women who were accused as witches?
Being the person that i am, i kept an open mind to this. Though far fetched some of the theories were, weirder things have happened in life before. So why dismiss everything? But after reading a few articles on line such as the ones i've linked to above, my fears and worries have dissapated.
I worry how the general public, who are like me.....not so knowing about the history of religion...react to this book. A lot of the stuff in the book are being presented as FACTS. The general feeling is that the book is very anti-Catholic. I wonder how the movie is going to be like. Tom Hanks has been cast to play the lead.

The general consensus I heard is that Dan Brown's research is very patchy. Whether that's entirely true, I am not sure. Although some of the facts I checked up on, such as the Merovingians etc did prove to be false ... hehehe. Ahhh, the beauty of the internet.
Anyway, I don't think they should have casted Tom Hanks as the lead role. I say cast Brad Pitt as Robert Langdon and Angelina Jolie as Sophie. Now that's would be sweet!... hahahah. Mr and Mrs Smith all over again?
bro: i know dan brownie didnt come up with it, but he apparently got his stuff from other ppl who may have created this. It does pose an interesting dilemma though...for the paranoid amongst us.
Is the church really holding the truth back?
Or is the anti-church trying to convince everyone to be anti-church?
I guess we might never know, but maybe it is more important to look to others for the truth, but listen to the God that is inside us, talking to us.
berdy: wasnt the meronvingian that french fucker in the matrix too? hahaha... brad pitt as langdon? lol...i dont think langdon was the buffedd up type. jolie as sophie?...hell yea!!
