Destiny

Was watching the Elvis special on Astro last night when i came back from work. Now i have a brief idea of why this man was so great. Its not that he had a string of No.1 hits. Its not that he made a lot of cheesy movies which made him lots of money and propelled him to greater stardom.

It was the way he did it. Courage ,soul and a heck of a lot of style.

Where do people like this come from? Are they born into their roles, destined to achieve stardom and touch the lives of millions of people? Was Elvis' path written in the stars? Pre-ordained to grow bigger than himself? Bigger and greater than everyone else?

I thought about this a lot. I try not to believe in things as destiny, but its a curious thing. Maybe Gods plans for us is also our destiny. Perhaps not everyone fulfills their destiny. But a lot of people did and still do. Elvis certainly looked as thought he did.

Elvis didnt achieve what he achieve by pure chance, or even talent. He achieved it with the help of friends, hardwork and a lot of love for what he wanted to do. Its a lesson for me, that i cant stroll through life. My current path is taking me no where. Talent in anything by itself, does not guarentee anything. Hardwork is the key. There is no sugar coating it. This is life.

I'm not sure how elvis actually died, i suspect it was drugs because it was being mentioned alot during the Elvis special when the topic of his death was being discussed. I kinda got the feeling that he just let go, he just gave up because he sensed that he had achieved all that he could. The death of Padme comes to mind as well.

After the show, as i was having my shower, i cant help but think how the Elvis and Kurt's lives have a few things in common. Ok, Kurt could'nt sing for nuts, while Elvis had a phenomenal voice. It was however, the way they sang their songs.

It was the amount of hardwork and dedication they put into their music, their art. And they way they died. So tragic. I suspect Kurt might have eventually overdosed (that bitch courtney actually killed himhttp://nimalds1980.zoto.comnot a shotgun).

The success of Elvis and Kurt was down hardwork and dedication and the sense of doing it their way, and not taking "No" for and answer. The alcohol, drugs and sex that is normally associated with rock stars, just serves to hide this actual truth.

Kurt and Elvis changed music a lot. They did things in their own way, in their own style. They were unique creatures, forever destined to rise above normality. Forever destined to be missed. Forever young in the hearts of those who remember them.
