WHAT A GAME! GUTS PASSION SKILL AND 3 GREAT GOALS!!!
The half time stats were unbelievable, Liverpool was totally dominant. Benitez's masterplan worked to a tee. Not only were Arsenal made to look like an average side, but they didnt have any shots on goal, and zero corners --> 0 shots on goal, 0 shots on target, 0 shots off target, 0 corners. quite unreal.
To their credit, Arsenal started play a bit more in the second half, and scored a magical goal.
Unfortunately, this game will forever be remembered for the allmightly silly dive by Viera. All diving is silly anyway. I read this interesting mail on the Football365 forum, and this guy suggested that the ppl start laughing whenever someone falls down theatrically. Seems like a great suggestion. Nobody likes being laughed at.
Alonso scored the first goal, it was a real beauty. And all you Anti-Kewellites, take notice, he played a big part. He worked his socks off defending and getting back, and it was a shame that whenever he went forward, nothing went his way. I get the feeling that he just needs something to start going his way, and that confidence will start to flow, and HE WILL START TO FLOW! A rampaging and flowing Harry Kewell is a sight to behold. I hope to see him do that in Liverpool colours one day.
Congratulations to Neil Mellor, the next goalscoring machine off the Liverpool production lines. I hope he makes it all the way, following the likes of Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler(dont snicker, he was one of our great goalscorers!) and Michael Owen. That goal he scored was pure instinct. If you are a Liverpool player, it must be nice to know that even with all the striker crisis, that you have a "RESERVE" player that will score goals like that. Can he score a couple more like that against Tottenham in the League Cup?
