This question has always been nagging in my mind. In theory, i suppose it could be justified be saying :
- they are elected by us, thus we should give them all our money just for the heck of it
- they represent the community, and speak for our rights, so we must give them our money too
- they need to wear expensive clothes and drive expensive cars so as to make a good impression to others, hence, lets give them all our money too.

I read with suprising curiosity this article, where Deputy Umno Youth, Khairy Jamaluddin revealed how he incurred losses up to RM200,000 when he sold off his ECMLibra shares. Poor bugger. He lost rm200k. We should all pity the fool and weep in sorrow.
OR...
We should actually question, why someone in the government (i'm speaking about ALL government officials..not just that brat Khairy) should have RM200,000 to lose? Instead of whining and making so much hullabaloo about whats happening in Palestine/Israel, shouldn't these blokes do a self check and correct their faults before preaching to others?
Politicians should be the epitomy of humbleness. After all, WE did infact elect them. It is not a gift to them. It is a priviledge that WE have given to them. By electing them, we have made them our voice in the world.
The worlds greatest politician of the new world, was never a politician, nor did he ever want to be.
Mahatma Gandhi, frequently took the train, walked across miles in his sandals, lived in a farm, and wore nothing but a piece of cloth almost all of the time. Can you ever imagine any politician ever doing this, or heck, even showing 1% of this kind of humbleness?
It is absolutely revolting and disgusting to see how politicians now days parade themselves like celebrities, and think they are above us all.
A lot of good work can be accomplished with RM200,000. A lot of homeless people can be fed with RM200,000. The suffering of a lot of sick people in our OWN country can be eased with RM200,000. I wish i had RM200,000 to lose. At least i'd try to lose it to people who really need it. Don't believe me? Give it to me and you will see.
