My favourite thing in red won!!! The future is INDEED red!!
First Half
At half time, we were trailing 3-0 to Milan, and it seemed hopeless. Milan were the dominant team, with Kaka leading the rout. Too much space had been given to the magical Brazilian hot shot .He's got the hot shot looks to go with the skills as well, i read somewhere that he has done a few modelling jobs. There wasnt any outstanding player for Liverpool in the first half, though Garcia had a few good tricks. At that point, i was sour and down. It didnt look good. I told my friend Beez that the second half would produce another 3 goals. Little did i know that it would be 3 goals from Liverpool!
Second half
Imagine this, you are 3-0 down, and you as the manager need to get more goals. The most obvious thing to do was throw on another attacker ala Cisse. But no, benitez threw on Hamann for Finnan. I knew then that he had changed the formation to a 3-5-2. What a masterstroke that move would turn out to be as liverpool scores 3 goals within 15 minutes!!!!! Genius! Simply Genius! Gerrard typically led the way with a super looping header. Smicer (who is set to leave) scores a rocket from 25 yards. And finally, Gerrard wins a penalty after being tripped by Gattuso. Xabi steps up to even the score......BUT DIDA SAVES IT! ARGH
NO WAIT! Xabi is on to the rebound in a flash and hammers it in for a 3-3 scoreline!!! WOW!! MAGICAL!!!!
After that, the pace quickly slows down as Milan recover their momentum. We had a few scares along the way but players like Traore and Dudek and CARRAGHER saves us.
In the end, we clung on till penalties. Dudek was the hero of the night. Man of the match just for saving 2 penalties. He deserves another contract. Dudek even did that knee wobbling thing that Grobbelar did so famously , but didnt save the shot. Well Dudek, after this, i hope you stamp out yer in-consistentcies and go on to be a great goalkeeper for us.
Even if Smicer does leave, i will always love the guy and respect him. He gave his heart and his all while being fully aware that he doesnt figure in Benitez plans next season. A true Liverpool player!
Congratulations my team in Red! Congrats Liverpool players and staff. We deserved this win!
