Reflections

Its been almost a full day now since the game ended. In the past 24 hours, i've only had roughly 4 hours of sleep. The Champions League has been on my mind the whole time, and have some comments regarding the game:

1. Carragher should be automatic choice for England, together with Terry
2. Carragher was right, it really doesnt matter if the goal was proper or not. Liverpool on a whole were due a bit of luck. All the Chelsea v Liverpool games this season have been tight, and the ones Chelsea won were more or less from luck.
3. First season. League Cup Final. Champions League Final. Not bad Benitez.
4. The current Liverpool is playing awfully similiar to the Liverpool under the Houllier Regime. Defensive, counter attacking. It brought us a lot of Cups and nearly won us the Premier League. But Houllier couldnt improve the style and strike a balance between a side that could play attacking AND defensive football. That was his downfall. I hope Benitez manages to find that balance. His Valencia side did, so there is hope.
5. Riise is coming on leaps and bounds as a left winger. Tattoo, funky hair-style, and a good deal more attitude and confidence. Who needs Kewell eh?
6. Oh, and as for the best team, i believe they had 2-3 shots on target over the 2 legs. Liverpool had twice as many. The best team HAVE gone through.
