The Force not with Malaysian Pirates

Just read an interesting article about piracy and the new Star Wars movie. Its pretty short, so here it is:

The Force was with George Lucas on Thursday when Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith broke two records at the box office. The final installment of the Star Wars space opera brought in $50 million the first day in theatres, breaking records for the biggest opening day as well as the single day gross.

There was little let-up on Friday as the film brought in an additional $35.5 million, according to estimates. When the dust settles, Episode III just may break another record; the biggest two-day total. That record is currently held by Spider-Man at $83 million.

While fans flood the box office, pirates launched their evil plans to profit from film. The BBC reports that police in Malaysia took down a DVD pirate outfit in that country on Friday. Thousands of copies of Episode III were among the half million pirated DVDs seized by authorities.

While the cops captured the illegal treasure at a warehouse in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, the pirates had fled the scene by the time the storm troopers had arrived. Yoda had no comment.
