Check out the article from PC World. Hooray for the underdogs AMD! hahaha. Well, they arent really underdogs thesedays. Its amazing how far they have come to challenging Intels dominance. A little competition never hurt anyone did it? Maybe the losers. But deffinately not the customers!
Some interesting things to note:
- existing Athlon 64 users can upgrade with just a BIOS change. Intel users have to change the whole freaking motherboard.
- The chips alone will cost USD$500. This is the estimated price for the entry-level market versions. The beasts aka high-level versions would cost a whopping USD$1000 at least, regardless of AMD or Intel.
- Systems equipped with em dual core babies should be available from vendors like Acer, Alienware and HP.
