Did anyone feel any tremors at approximately 12.30am?
I was at work, and my iraqi colleague's parents called him to say that they felt their apartment building moving/vibrating/shaking. They stay in Taman Seputeh, near Mid Valley.
A while later, my other colleague missed called me, which was cue for me to call him back from office lines. He also felt something, he said the ground was shaking, he came outta his house, and the telephone poles were moving. He stays in Banting. He asked if we felt anything, but nothing. Not a pip squeak (in case you're wondering, i work in CyberJaya).
But surpisingly, he said that his friend who stays in an apartment building in Cyberjaya felt the tremors too. Everyone has come down from the building. Even my iraqi colleague's brother, who stays in Cyberia apartments felt it, and apparently, the guards have asked everyone to come down.
Shit, whats happening?? I'm a rat in my little office cage, and i'm worried about my family and friends.
One thing is for sure, Malaysia has no earthquakes. So, we can rule out any sorta natural disasters coming from Malaysia. In light of recent natural disasters, it could be another tsunami over at Indonesia, or an earthquake. It wouldnt be the first time we have felt tremors from earthquakes originating from Indonesia.
I wonder who i should call to get more information, some sort of meteorological (how do u spell that?!!?) department or sumthing. Should i call the police? Fire Department? SPCA?
Hmm, it would be funny if panicked ppl were to call us, since we're tech support. I can just imagine it...LOL
