rock bottom

Haven't posted in a while. Not that anyone's reading though. Except for 2 people. BooHooHoo.

This is truly rock bottom. I've got no girl to call my own and all my MP3's have dissapeared!
How? Most probably an accident (I say probably because i didnt do it, so i am guessing)
Who? Most probably my brother.
Why? Most probably an accident whilst trying to delete some of his own mp3's

At that point in time when one discovers the horrors in MP3 hell, you ave 2 choices. ONE, you scream and wail like a bitch and break everything in sight in the hope that the pain goes away, or TWO, you take it like a man, calm down, and realise that its just MP3's. It could be worse. I dont know what could be worse, but i'm pretty sure it could be.

All those years of collecting MP3's, down the drain. Mind you, this isnt the first time. I've been around a few hard drive crashes, so this pain is somewhat familliar territory. Hmm, ok ok, yea..a worse scenario would have been if my hard-drive crashed.

Read an interesting story about Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology,
. This is what caught my attention --> "They love Debian Linux but not Red Hat. They tolerate Windows but only for gaming. And one of the few things they all agree on is that they hate programming in Java."

Wow..these guys sound like geek-gods...and they are school kids. One of the kids there, has 9 computers in his room, updates the workstations in the labs for fun, maintains the schools DNS records and is redesigning some network file servers. His name is John Livingston and he is 17 years old. WOW

Another student, Susan Ditmore, also 17 years old, build a cluster using Pentium II computers for her final project. She has 6 computers in her room, and 4 of em are running of Linux.

These kids are amazing. I wish i had that much exposure to equipment and softwares when i was growing up. Much of their work is hands-on. They learn by actually setting up, configuring and running and maintaning the websites, servers and other computing services in the school. Its said that even the adults do not know how these stuff works.

Amazing concept! Malaysia should start a school like that...in cyberjaya no less.
